Getting Started with California Contractors Database (Workers Compensation)

Getting Started with California Contractors Database (Workers Compensation)

If you haven't followed our QuickStart Guide or Commercial QuickStart Guide, we're going to start there.

This video will walk you through:

  • Adding your Employees
  • Setting up their Leadsoft Phone Numbers
  • And how they can sync their Calendars.

Once this is all set up, you are ready to start sourcing leads and making phone calls.

Next, you'll want to start Searching for Leads. Click over to the "California Contractors" section in the UI and then start searching by Geography, Workers Comp Carrier, Ex Date, Class Code, and more.

There's a lot of good strategies to think about here.

  • Targeting locally helps increase win rates and connect rates just because you're their neighbor reaching out from a local number
  • You probably have certain class codes that you win a lot or carriers that you have good win rates against - searching this way will help you connect with leads you know you can win.
  • Corporations and partnerships have multiple owners which can offer opportunities to cross sell personal lines, life insurance for buy-sell-agreements, and other products once you've established a customer base.

Once you're happy with your lead list, select how many leads you want and your campaign and then push "Export." Your leads will be added to your Contacts section and added to that workflow.

It's important to note that only one agent per carrier can pull a lead from our database. In other words, if you're a Farmers Agent, you won't be able to pull leads that other Farmers Agents have already pulled.

We have a default workflow built out for Workers Compensation Calling called the 5 call blitz. The reason we call 5 times is that our research has shown that 80% of people who don't answer the phone in the first 5 calls never will.

The playbook is super straight forward because we only have phone numbers - there isn't much customization you can do at this part. The magic is all in how you search for leads and what you say.

Finally, you'll want to customize your CA Workers Comp Playbook. If you would like our team to help you with this, reach out to your account manager to schedule a call.

Cool things you can do here include:

  • Reassigning/escalating leads based on dispositions (great if you want to escalate large deals to more experienced agents)
  • Scheduling follow-ups/creating opportunities based on call outcomes
  • Adding customized email and SMS steps to any of these outcomes
  • Using long wait steps and the "Go To" action to create annual loops so you can follow up with your leads every year.

You can do this by editing the workflows in the "Workers Compensation - California" Folder.
